How we handle your data and the data of the candidates you review.
This policy covers the Recruiter Copilot application and the recruitercopilot.co website. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it.

Three kinds of data pass through the product.
When you ask for an analysis, the text of the profile or resume you have open is read so the analysis can be produced. This is the candidate's data, not yours, and you are responsible for having a lawful reason to review it.
We record which features are used and when the application crashes, so we can find and fix problems. This is tied to an installation, not to your name.
If you email support, we keep the email and whatever you put in it until the issue is closed.
Profile content is used to produce the analysis you asked for and nothing else. Usage and crash data is used to fix bugs and decide what to build next. Support emails are used to answer you.
We do not sell your data. We do not sell candidate data. We do not hand either to advertisers.
We use outside providers for hosting, for the AI model that produces the analysis, and for error reporting. They process data on our instructions and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes. We will name the current providers on request.
We will disclose data if a court or a law requires it. If that happens and we are allowed to tell you, we will.
Profile and resume text is kept only as long as it takes to return the analysis, then discarded. Usage and crash data is kept for [RETENTION PERIOD, e.g. 12 months]. Support emails are kept for [RETENTION PERIOD, e.g. 24 months] in case you write again about the same problem.
Depending on where you live, you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to how we use it. Write to privacy@recruitercopilot.co and we will answer within 30 days.
Uninstalling the application stops any further collection immediately.
When you run an analysis, you are the one deciding to process that candidate's data. In most privacy law that makes you the controller and us the processor acting for you. Make sure you are allowed to review the profile, and follow the rules that apply to you, including any candidate notice or record-keeping your jurisdiction requires.
Data in transit is encrypted. Access to our systems is limited to the people who need it to do their job. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.
The product is for working recruiters. It is not for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in [PRIMARY PROCESSING REGION]. Where the law requires safeguards for those transfers, we put them in place.
If we change this policy, the date at the top changes with it. For a change that affects what we collect or why, we will tell users inside the application before it takes effect.
